Rail car storage along the Missouri

I took these photos on Superbowl Sunday. Miles and miles of unused rail cars parked along the Missouri River in Montana. This chain of unused rail cars stretches from at least Craig, MT all the way past Cascade, MT for the better part of 18 miles or so (from what I could tell from the highway). These are rail cars that are used for transporting the large freight containers inland that come from the enormous trans-oceanic freight vessels. According to my father in-law, the rail cars started piling up last summer. An interesting site for such a picturesque stretch of the Missouri River nationally renowed for it’s trophy Rainbow Trout.
